MATSUI
matsui is a Japanese-born illustrator who was born in Aichi, Japan and now lives in Gifu. His creation with soft lines, friendly color and simple painting style, bring a fresh and warm feeling. His works range from plane to three-dimensional. Most of them focus on the interaction between dogs and humans, describing the warmth between people and pets.
He is keen to explore the complementarity of the relationship between humans and animals, and to express the dual roles of both as caregivers and caretakers. While on the surface level to understand, the relationship between a pet and its owner is one of human superiority, each animal provides its owner with comfort that fulfills a basic human need for friendship and affection.
